All information about a client will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be shared with any other person or organisation; either verbally or in written or electronic form.

In line with other counselling services, Doctor's surgeries and governing bodies, there are a few exceptions to the confidentiality policy; which are in place for reasons of safety and legal requirement, as follows:

If you disclose details of your involvement in a specific crime that has either taken place or that has been planned.

If you disclose or present as being at risk to your own life or safety.

If you disclose or present as being a risk to the lives or safety of others.

If you disclose or present risk of harm to a child or children.

If you disclose knowledge of, or involvement with, an actual or planned act of terrorism.

If you present as being mentally incapacitated to a degree that would imply that you do not understand or cannot act for or represent yourself.
